Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 June 2026
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Mirlo, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Mirlo, operated from The Netherlands. Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no responsibility for the app or its content.
Licence grant
Mirlo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use the app on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute, sublicense, or transfer the app to any third party. Before selling or transferring a device, remove the app from it first. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mirlo. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will delete their account immediately.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Do not share your login credentials with others. Notify us immediately at support@mirlo.social if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Mirlo to:
- Post content that dehumanises, threatens, or incites violence or hatred toward people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Share content that sexualises minors in any way.
- Post threats of violence, doxxing, or content that puts another person at real-world risk.
- Harass another person, including repeated unwanted contact or contact after they have asked you to stop.
- Post content that violates applicable hate-speech, incitement, or counter-terrorism laws in the European Union or the Netherlands.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Spam, scam, or use Mirlo for commercial solicitation without our prior written consent.
- Attempt to access, interfere with, or disrupt Mirlo's infrastructure or other users' accounts.
Day-to-day expectations are described in plain language in our Community Guidelines, available in the app at Settings → Community Guidelines and at mirlo.social/community.
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion. Where required by law, we will report unlawful content to the relevant authorities. Your right to use Mirlo terminates automatically upon any breach of these terms.
User content
You retain full ownership of the photos, videos, and text you post on Mirlo. By posting content, you grant Mirlo a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the app — specifically, to show it to your mutual connections.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
Sensitive content
Mirlo permits non-sexualised nudity posted by users who flag it appropriately. Viewing nudity content requires you to be at least 18 years old; this setting is disabled for users under 18. Sexualised content is strictly prohibited and may result in content removal and account suspension or termination. You are responsible for accurately flagging any sensitive content you post.
Reporting and moderation
Mirlo provides in-app tools to report content, posts, profiles, or conversations that violate these terms. We review every report and take action at our discretion, including content removal, warnings, suspension, or termination. Where content is unlawful, we report it to the relevant authorities as required.
Our Community Guidelines, available in the app at Settings → Community Guidelines and at mirlo.social/community, describe in plain language the rules we apply when reviewing reports. We are not obligated to remove any particular piece of content but take all reports seriously.
Subscription and billing
Access to Mirlo requires an active subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or yearly basis as selected at the time of purchase. A free trial may be offered to new users; charges begin after the trial period ends unless cancelled beforehand.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings. We do not offer refunds except where required by applicable law or app store policies.
Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion initiates a 7-day grace period during which your account is hidden and you may cancel. After 7 days your account and all associated data is permanently deleted.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Because subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, you must cancel separately in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Subscriptions on Android, to stop being charged.
If we terminate your account due to a breach of these terms, you are not entitled to a refund.
Service availability
We aim to keep Mirlo available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime.
Maintenance and support
Mirlo is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for the app, as required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services with respect to the app.
Third-party services
Mirlo integrates with third-party services to provide its functionality. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services and disclaim all liability arising from your use of them.
Disclaimer of warranties
Mirlo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Any other claims, losses, or damages attributable to a warranty failure are Mirlo's sole responsibility.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mirlo and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app.
Product claims
Mirlo, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
Intellectual property
If any third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Mirlo — not Apple — is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
Export compliance
You may not use or export the app in violation of applicable export laws and regulations, including those of the Netherlands, the European Union, and the United States. By using Mirlo, you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a government embargo and are not on any restricted-persons list maintained by any government authority.
Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Mirlo shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of The Netherlands.
Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Service. Upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in-app before they take effect. Continued use of Mirlo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
